People In Motion - Disability Parking Permit

Disabled Parking Permit application form

Disability Parking Permits, sometimes referred to as "disabled parking permits, handicapped parking permits or wheelchair parking permits" are issued to qualified individuals (as determined by a Physician) to allow legal access to designated disabled parking spaces. Temporary and Permanent Placards are available at our office or by mail upon submission of a completed Parking Permit Application Form and fee of $18.00. To access the application form, click here, or contact us to have one delivered to you. We welcome renewal applications from other Placard/Permit issuers. We can do credit card; cheques; money order by mail; as well as debit cards and cash at the office

We offer three types of parking permits at People In Motion. Permanent parking permits are good for three years and then must be renewed. Temporary permits can last from 3 to 12 months. Organisations that transport people with disabilities can also apply for a parking permit.

We also work to educate Permit users on the proper use of their permit as well as educating the general public and businesses on the need for and the use of designated disabled parking spaces. During the summer we have information tables at parking lots around town patrolling for proper and improper usage of parking permits.

People In Motion works with other permit issuers to ensure alignment of policy, rules and regulations and good communication across the province in support of the individuals who qualify to use the permits according to Division 38 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
